About St. Eva Hill Vineyard

When St. Eva Hill Vineyard’s owners, Dan and JoCeal, first drove onto the property, they each had a heartfelt sensation that this was what they had been searching for. They had driven up and down the West coast from Washington throughout California for over two years searching for the perfect place to call home. The move was from Ventura County where they lived for over 30 years. Their passion and background are quality driven; they have been behind the scenes auditing processes ensuring whatever is produced meets and exceeds requirements and expectations. They do not settle for meager results; they look for excellence, which is why this boutique vineyard was such a great fit. It is the perfect place to embrace the entire process of wine making from the soil on up.

A Personal Message from Dan and JoCeal

The making of wine is deeply rooted in our family history. Dan’s parents came from France where wine was always a part of daily meals as far back as he can remember. JoCeal’s family made their own wine in Spain the old-fashioned way by stomping on the grapes. Dan and JoCeal worked on creating a backyard paradise in their previous home. It was filled with a variety of fruit trees, roses, and yes, a small hobby vineyard. Eventually, they made some “backyard” wine; not perfect by any means, but was the start of something more to come.

That in turn drove Dan to dive deeper into the art of making home wine and began purchasing home brew kits and do-it-yourself books. Dan has completed professional course work with the Napa Valley Wine Academy to obtain a better path to success!

We want to deliver a deluxe product at an affordable cost without compromise. We are involved in every aspect of our grape growing and wine making. Currently, we are growing Zinfandel, Primitivo and Petite Sirah; additional varietals will be planted soon. These will be Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc as well as a possible mix of Mouvedre, Petit Verdot, and/or Grenache. Our 2019 harvest included making a multiple Gold award winning Rose rated at 90 points along with Zinfandel, Primitivo and Petite Sirah from our vineyard. Also, special Red Blend made from these barrels is in the works. We sell our grapes, as well as our wine, so please contact us with any questions you have. We are not open to the public, but do welcome those interested in purchasing our grapes. We do not offer wine tasting at this time; our wine sales are mainly direct to consumer through this website.

Owning a vineyard was not necessarily a dream; it was more of a persistent calling to take the leap forward and produce a product that can be shared and enjoyed. What becomes important to us is what we are able to share with others. We hope you enjoy our wine as much as we enjoy the process of making it. We have plans to expand our offerings that are high quality and will not disappoint you.

Our Team

We are a modest vineyard and did not approach this venture alone. We have surrounded ourselves with local experts and attend events in order to network and learn from. We have an experienced vineyard team that we use before, during and after harvest, a local crush house and a winemaker with over 40 years of combined knowledge and expertise. We utilize off-site refrigerated storage for the best care of our wines.
